This story happened to a disabled man named Artem. He lived with his mother in the village of Petrovka. The village is small, and everyone in it knows everything about everyone.
Artem is twenty-six years old. He is dressed modestly, because he does not have much money. His brother went to Moscow and got married, he is going to have a daughter soon. Artem almost always sat outside until evening, as there was no normal light at home due to frequent power outages. There was nothing to watch on TV, because when there was light, only three programs were shown: "First," "Russia 1," and "CTC."
One such day, he saw a car pull up to his neighbor's house, out of which a girl got out and headed for the house. Her gait was light and her movements smooth. The windy weather played no small part in this situation either, for the hem of her dress fluttered faintly and the fainter air currents gently ruffled her hair, arranged in a simple but elegant hairstyle at the same time. It was obvious at a glance that she didn't belong here; she must have come from the big city. Her whole silhouette radiated an unconcealed and insanely bright energy. You could only compare her to a goddess, and it seemed impossible to look away. Which, in fact, what Artem did, he watched her, silently admired and could not close his heart to a beautiful feeling. He fell in love.
